Q1. Do I need an existing Internet account to register or use WIPLASH2000?
Ans. You DO NOT need an exiting Internet account.
If you already
have a connection with VSNL just replace your existing dial-up number with
those shown on the "Dial-up Access Numbers" Page. Dial this number with
your computer and wait for the black box on your screen asking for your
login (freedom) and password (free123) and follow the instructions on the
screen. After you are connected you should start your browser (Internet
Explorer or Netscape) and point your browser to www.wiplash.com.
You can then register for the service.
Once you are registered you can use the following step by step instructions
to dial-up WIPLASH2000.
Note: Step1 needs to be followed only once.
Step 1.
a.) Go to "My Computer"
b.) Double Click "Dial-up Networking"
c.) Double Click "Make a new connection"
d.) Type the name of the connection eg. Wiplash2000
e.) Click "Next"
f.) Type the access number on the "Phone" tab.
g.) Click "Next"
h.) Click "Finish"
i.) Right click "Wiplash2000"
j.) Go to "Properties"
k.) Go to "General"
l.) Clear the check box of "Use area code and dialing properties"
m.) Click on "Configure"
n.) Go to "Options"
o.) Select "Bring up terminal window after dialing"
p.)Close all dialog boxes by clicking OK
Step 2.
a.) Double click "Wiplash2000"
b.) Simply enter the access number and click "Connect"
c.) On the Post-Dial terminal Screen type your username and password.
d.) Wait for a few seconds for the garbage to come in.
f.) Click "Continue{F7}"
g.)Log on to Wiplash.com and click on the UFO in the members area
page.
h.) Ready to Browse
Q2. I don't have a connection with VSNL but with MTNL / MANTRA (Error 629 or Error 650 message)?
Ans. As MTNL and Mantra do not use a post-dial window you will not get the black box (see Question 1 above). If you tried to dial-up the server using this type of connection you will get disconnected and get an Error 629 or Error 650 message on your screen.
To set up the black box - In Windows use your mouse to click on START->Programs->Accessories->Communications->Dial-Up-Networking
Click the right mouse button on your existing MTNL/MANTRA connection, select ->Properties->Configure->Options and put a tick mark in the box marked "Bring up a terminal Window after Dialing". Click on OK.
Replace the dial-up number with any of those shown in our "Dial-up Access Numbers" page and follow the steps given in answer to Question 1 above.
Q3. I want to use Wiplash2000 and also use my VSNL/other ISP Connection?
Ans. In Windows use your mouse to click on START->Programs->Accessories->Communications->Dial-Up-Networking
Double Click on Make New Connection and click on ->Configure->Options and put a tick mark in the box marked "Bring up a terminal Window after Dialing". Click on OK.
Click on NEXT and enter any one of the phone numbers given on the dial-up access page and then click ->Next->Finish.
You should now see a new icon called "My Connection". Double click on this icon and then on CONNECT. You will connect to the WIPLASH2000 web server and follow the instructions on the screen.
Q4. Can I connect to www.wiplash.com on the Internet by using my exisitng internet connection?
Ans. NO. Our servers work off-line. You can register for this FREE service by going to the "Sign Up Here" page.
Q5. Can you provide a better Internet connection than my existing Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
Ans. We provide our service through several ISP's so if you’re ISP is busy or out of operation or has a bad phone line you can still connect through WIPLASH2000. We use advanced data compression technology so you may even get a faster connection!!!
Q6. Can only students use Wiplash2000? What about business and other users?
Ans. Any one can connect and use WIPLASH2000. Only bonafide students get FREE Internet access. Business and other users can sponsor a student and get FREE internet access. See the "Registration Form for Non-Students" on our "Sign Up Here" Page.
Q7. I tried to connect to your server but the number was always busy?
We have several dial-up hunting numbers. They may be viewed by going to the dial-up access numbers page. After connecting to the web server you should download our Advanced Dialer by clicking on the NET TOOLS icon. This utility will dial these numbers automatically until your computer makes a connection.
B. AFTER I CONNECT TO THE WIPLASH2000 SERVER
Q8. I registered for your service but nothing further happened. What next?
Ans. You should hear from us within 48HRS by e-mail or via a phone call confirming your registration. You may have given an incorrect phone number or e-mail address so if you do not hear from us then please connect to the server and use the Feedback Page.
Q9. I connected to the server but forgot my user name and password. What do I do now?
Ans. Login using the user name: freedom and password: free123. Start your browser and point it to www.wiplash.com . Then click on the "Forgot Password" icon and fill in the form. Click on Submit and you will be notified your username and password by telephone or e-mail. Or you can simply email us at support@wiplash2000.com
Q10. I find the pages on my browser come up very slowly and stop for a while?
Ans. This should happen only the first time you connect to our servers as some browsers like Netscape take time to start the Java programs we use. The next connection should not take you more than 10 seconds a page. If you still have problems you may like to opt for our premium package or e-mail us at support@wiplash2000.com.
Q11. I have been registered but I can’t connect to the Internet. What do I do now?
Ans. Make sure you login with the user name and password given to you and not as "freedom". To connect to the Internet you must enter the member’s area and first click on the UFO. The gateway is then opened and you can go to any site on the Internet by using the hotlinks in the member’s area or entering the name of the site on your browser.
Q12. I am a registered user but when I connect on the links in the member’s area or try to go to a web site, a sorry message keeps coming up ?
Ans. This happens because you either first tried to go to a website before entering the member's area or tried to enter the member’s area as an unregistered user i.e. as freedom. You must empty your Browser cache, to correct this:
If you are using a Netscape Browser click on Edit->preference->advanced->cache->Clear Memory Cache & Disk Cache
If you are using Internet Explorer click on Tools->Internet Options->Delete Temporary Internet Files
Q13. When I view some of the pages on the web server I get a JavaScript error window.
Ans. This happens with some older versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers. We recommend you upgrade to IE version 6.0 or Netscape version 4.7 or above.

Q14. How much does it cost to advertise on Wiplash2000?
Ans. You may connect to the WIPLASH2000 server and request a quotation by using the "Feedback Button" or simply e-mail us at sales@wiplash2000.com. We provide both e-mail and banner advertising at very competitive rates.
Q15. What is the premium technical support package?
Ans. For a low monthly charge of Rs120.- we assist you in setting up your computer for optimum performance including providing you FREE software to speed up your connection. You get faster browsing speeds and access to our 24HR help desk. It also gives you priority Internet access. This means that if the web servers get too busy we give priority to those who have opted for a premium account by giving them exclusive dial-up numbers.
Q16. How is the service FREE? There must be a catch to it!
Ans. There is no catch to it; our sponsors pay for your internet connection. You can help us to keep this service FREE by sponsoring an advertisement or letting your friends know about Wiplash2000.
